Alfabusa is the creator of If The Emperor Had a Text-To-Speech Device. As a long-time fan of the Warhammer 40,000 franchise, Alfabusa came up with the idea for the first episode as a short one-off video made as a humorous take on many questionable story decisions via having the Emperor complain about what became of humanity. After the success of the first few episodes, the show became its own extended work of fanfiction, featuring a complex story, many voice talents, and numerous memorable moments.

At one time, Alfabusa had been a member of the Alfa Legion, a group of 40k fans whom many of which helped out with many voice acting roles. Alfabusa has stated that he is no longer a member of this group, though he continues to work with his friends that contributed to the show. The Alfa Legion is mentioned in Episode 10 in reference to the Emperor's quip about chapters "so reclusive and historically inept that their mere existence sounds like something out of a disgusting horrible and shitty fan fiction." Letters from the cast members during Q&A episodes are also addressed from Swedesia, the Alfa Legion's home planet.
